Tasting notes: Colledila, Castello di Brolio, Barone Ricasoli, 2010 Chianti Classico Docg, 14.5%

Concentrated, luminous ruby red, ripe red fruits, cherry, wild cherry, floral scents of violet, very refined and elegant, intermingled with blond tobacco, evergreen resin and mint. Perfectly balanced acidity, refined tannins, with an interminable, mineral finish. Ideal pairing: grilled sirloin steak or beef stew. Drink now through 2025. 91 points. Reviewed by Elizabeth W Miller, Wine Qualia Notes about wine: Colledila is a cru vineyard site at Barone Ricasoli which has been part of the estate through the centuries. It is through careful clonal selection of Sangiovese at Barone Ricasoli over the last 20 years which has rendered it possible for this estate to produce very amazing, single varietal Sangiovese based wines. This vineyard is located at 380 m and faces south-west. The soil is chalky with a fine clay structure. It is well drained and very stony. Colledila 2010, Castello di Brolio, Barone Ricasoli, Chianti Classico Docg, 14.5%, 100% Sangiovese, aged 18 months in new barrels and casks cg5% alcohol
